Dermatech Engineering

 FROM MATHEWS DERA'S DESK

 DEAR FRIENDS

The first two months of 2012 have been quite hectic for my team and I. To date our team has had no single day of rest ever since we opened for the new year.

This has resulted in delays in the deliverance of service to you our valued customers.Thank you for your understanding.

This newsletter is very compressed. The next newsletter coming in two weeks time will not come from my desk but from a guest writer who is well known in the Steam Locomotive preservation world.

If any one of you wishes to participate in future newsletters please email me. You are most welcome.

I have for you only two announcements from the region

 VICTORIA FALLS

The Victoria Falls Steam Train Company has been re-launched.Please get time to log onto their new website.

My team and I have completed the renewal of a full set of super-heater elements for loco 512. the Locomotive then underwent a successful Annual Boiler Inspection and thus has been certified for another 12 months.

For more details please visit their website.

  BOTSWANA

The Bamangwato Concession Limited(BCL) has acquired two 19th Class locomotives that they are refurbishing.Dermatech Engineering is proud to be associated in the rehabilitation of these two locomotives.

I have not been able to travel due to the heavy workload in our Workshop.I promise to capture a few shots of the new acquisitions in time for the March newsletter.

THE NEW ERA
The long awaited un-bundling of the National Railways of Zimbabwe might finally be realized.Dermatech is keenly awaiting this development. To us this has been long overdue. Please be assured we are more than ready for this development which we have been planning for iN the last five years and more intensely in the last 6 months. It could not have come at a better time.

Continue watching this space.
